About us
ODB is the only regular source of free hot meals in Southern New Castle County. We operate through the generosity and hard work of over 300 active volunteers, who help with cooking, meal service, food rescue, receiving and organizing food pantry donations, and helping to clean and maintain our facility.
Last year we served over 55,000 meals, made and gave away 8,000 sandwiches, and rescued and redistributed 280,000 pounds of food from local groceries and restaurants that would otherwise be wasted. Each month, 1700+ people show up to receive meals at ODB and 35,000 pounds of food are distributed through our outdoor community fridge and freezer.

We are a federally registered, 501(c)3 non-profit organization; all donations are tax deductible.
We currently serve 7 hot meals a week (Dinner: Monday-Friday from 5-6 pm and Lunch: Tuesday & Thursday from 12-1pm). Guests are welcome to eat in our dining room or pick up to-go meals in front of the building. There are no requirements or conditions for service. Our mission is to feed people with dignity and compassion. All are welcome!

In addition our Community Refrigerator and Freezer are available for access 24-7, where we distribute food donated from local farms, restaurants, and grocery stores. Currently more than 35,000 pounds of food reaches our community each month through this program.
